Welcome. This is my blog, where I post notes on whatever I'm working on or reading about.
The topics jump around a fair bit and don't always connect, but they're a decent picture of what I spend my time on. Have a look around and hopefully something's useful.
### Thematic Nodes
Current crops include:
- Practical #OSINT methods and case work.
- A lot of baseball and its #Analytics , from the #MLB to Japan's #NPB , the #WBC , and the Australian #ABL .
- The mechanics of #Simulation and modelling, applied to both cognitive and physical warfare.
- Whatever else catches my interest.
### Obsidian
The site lives in my Obsidian vault and is published through their Publish service. It also relies on source code from [Marco Noris](https://lab.marconoris.com/marconoris), which I'm grateful for.
These aren't polished essays. You'll see work in progress, rough analysis, half-formed theories, and methods I'm still sorting out. I'd rather show the working than only the result.
### About Me
I'm a PhD candidate at the University of Canberra's National Security Institute. My research uses node-based network modelling to analyse the cognitive and physical sides of warfare.
I also like putting the skills to practical use. I've done a fair bit of online #OSINT work, including tracking organised crime, documenting evidence of war crimes, and supporting open-source projects in active conflict zones. I used to do most of it under a screen name, but I'm posting more openly these days.
Before academia I worked in media, where I built broadcast, statistical, and analytics frameworks from the ground up.
Outside that, I'm into sport, science fiction, and spreadsheet gaming, which all tend to turn up in these notes.
